Join our Child In Need team at Leicester City Council and play a crucial role in progressing plans for children who are subject to Child Protection and Child In Need plans, as well as managing care proceedings cases. This position involves assessing families, managing professional meetings, making appropriate referrals, and completing direct work with children and families.
Day-to-Day of the Role:- Assess and progress plans for children under Child Protection and Child In Need plans.
- Manage care proceedings cases effectively.
- Conduct family assessments and coordinate meetings with professionals.
- Make appropriate referrals and complete direct work with children and families.
- Utilise the Signs of Safety model and trauma-informed practices to support sound social work.
- Work within the principles of the Lundy model of Participation to ensure effective engagement.
- Experience as a social worker in child protection and child in need care.
- Experience with court work.
- Proficient in family assessments and managing care proceedings.
- Knowledge of Signs of Safety intervention models and trauma-informed practices.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage professional relationships and support families.
- Must have a driving licence and car.
