Description
As the Group Commercial Business Partner, you will:
- Partner closely with the Commercial Director to provide financial insight and commercial decision support.
- Lead financial modelling, investment appraisals, and business case development for new commercial opportunities.
- Support contract negotiations and tenders, ensuring financial viability and risk assessment.
- Manage and evaluate the financial performance of large-scale contracts (c. £100m in value).
- Provide clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
- Assess pricing structures, cost efficiencies, and return on investment for new business opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and procurement teams to drive commercial outcomes.
- Analyse financial trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance.
- Influence business planning by identifying financial efficiencies and process improvements.
- Play a key role in shaping the financial strategy for the next 2-3 years as the business continues to expand.
Profile
The Successful Group Commercial Finance Business Partner Should Have:
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with strong commercial finance experience.
- Proven track record in financial modelling, investment appraisal, and decision support.
- Experience working on bids, tenders, and contractual agreements (local authority experience is a plus).
- Strong commercial awareness - able to understand key business drivers and financial risks.
- A confident communicator who can challenge, influence, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- High level of resilience, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Background in service sectors, healthcare, or multi-site organisations is desirable.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to business partnering and commercial decision-making.
