Capio Recruitment is working with a highly regarded Top 200 law firm to recruit an experienced and driven Head of Conveyancing. This is an exciting leadership opportunity at a firm with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding legal services. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload while leading a well-established conveyancing department consisting of 15 fee earners.

The Role:

As Head of Conveyancing, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy residential conveyancing team. In addition to managing a personal caseload, you will lead, mentor, and develop the team, ensuring the highest levels of client care and service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages, and new build transactions.
  • Providing leadership and supervision to a team of 15 fee earners, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Driving departmental growth, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships, contributing to the continued success of the department.
  • Staying informed of developments in conveyancing law and market trends, ensuring the team’s advice remains current and commercially sound.
The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer with extensive experience in residential conveyancing. You will have:

  • At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing.
  • Proven experience managing a team of fee earners.
  • Strong technical knowledge of property law and procedure.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing team members.
  • A commercial mindset with a proactive approach to achieving departmental and firm-wide goals.
  • The ability to manage a high-volume caseload while ensuring excellent client care.
