HR Advisor

Temporary 3 month role starting 6th January, 40hrs per week, 35k salary based in LN6

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Advisor. In this critical role, you will focus on delivering expert Employee Relations (ER) advice and support, enabling managers to handle complex workplace issues confidently and compliantly.

Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations:

  • Advise managers on disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Handle ER cases from start to finish, ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
  • Support formal meetings, including note-taking and offering procedural guidance.

HR Policies and Guidance:

  • Help review and update HR policies to meet legal and best practice standards.
  • Train managers on key ER topics like investigations and grievance handling.

HR Support:

  • Coach managers to resolve workplace issues informally where possible.
  • Collaborate on HR projects, including well-being and staff engagement initiatives.

Data and Reporting:

  • Keep accurate ER case records and report trends to improve processes.

Requirements

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) - essential.
  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor or similar role with a focus on ER.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Confidence in managing multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
