Robert Walters are recruiting on behalf of a successful business as they seek to recruit an Assistant Accountant to support a growing finance team with genreal accounting processes alongside an upcomming systems implementation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining the set up requirements and controls within the ERP on a day to day basis
  • Reconcile customer demand coming in with customer orders going out and the control processes in between
  • Reconcile customer transactions to external bank and credit card payments and the associated control processes
  • Control the sales ledger and investigate any unusual customer balances
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the company's cash flow
  • Assist with the production of the monthly accounts and forecasts
  • Help prepare the annual accounts and full supporting schedules ready for the annual audit
  • Support the purchase ledger team when required
  • Production of ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as required by the directors and senior management

Key Requirements

  • Part qualified ACCA/ACA/ CIMA
  • Proficient in excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Experience of Microsoft 365 F&O or other similar ERP/ Finance applications
  • Proven experience in supporting business decisions
  • Proven record of working on own initiative, with desire to investigate and recommend solutions
  • Able to create a positive impression and provide support to at all levels within the company
  • Ability to work with both finance and non-finance individuals to solve issues
  • Able to analyse complex commercial data and provide structured conclusions and/or recommendations
  • Strong communication skills, including literacy/report writing
  • Willingness to challenge existing processes, controls and performance in a constructive manner and identify alternative/innovative solutions
