Learning Mentor - Liverpool

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for your next challenge? Or do you have a background in working with vulnerable children and are looking to transition into a school setting? If so, Tradewind Recruitment has the role for you!

We are currently working with a Primary School in Mossley Hill, who are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor on a long term and full-time basis.

Job responsibilities:

  • Delivering coaching, mentoring and support to individuals and groups of pupils within the primary phase.
  • Deliver high quality support for SEND pupils in-class, under the direction of the class teacher, for pupils to make good progress in their learning.
  • To provide one to one support as directed by SENCO.
  • To research, plan and deliver 1-to-1 mentoring/support sessions with identified vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils on a range of subjects that may be hindering individual learning
  • To research, plan and deliver group sessions/workshops with identified vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils on a range of subjects that may be a barrier to their learning
  • Provide learning support within a group and on an individual basis.
  • To contribute to learners EHCPs
  • To be aware of individual learner's risk assessments and needs
  • Keep records associated with the support role.

Person specification:

  • Experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Relevant teaching or childcare qualification (desirable).
  • Qualification or experience in counselling and/or mentoring (desirable).
  • Fosters an open fair and equitable culture with pupils.
