Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor


Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor for a large-scale, 50 million PBSA project. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of cost management, from initial feasibility through to final account settlement, ensuring the successful delivery of the project within budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all quantity surveying activities for the 50 PBSA project.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring financial control of the project.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identifying and mitigating risks related to financial performance.
  • Manage subcontractor payments, including the preparation and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Oversee and mentor junior quantity surveying team members, providing guidance and support.
  • Review and evaluate contractor and supplier tenders, ensuring best value for money.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring timely delivery and value for money.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale commercial projects, ideally 50 million+ in value.
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning, contract management, and project financial control.
  • Experience with standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards it is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
