A reputable mid-tier accounting firm in the heart of London is seeking a skilled and motivated Audit Associate Directorto join its audit and assurance team. This position is ideal for an experienced professional who is either already a Responsible Individual (RI) or a Senior Manager ready to obtain RI status and sign off on audits. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of audits, focusing on SMEs, group accounts, and potentially some due diligence assignments.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring high-quality service and building strong client relationships.
  • Oversee the entire audit process from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of audit staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Identify and implement improvements in audit procedures and practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Stay current with audit software, standards, and best practices to maintain technical proficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support general practice areas while maintaining a strong audit focus.
Desirable Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified.

Experience:

  • Extensive audit experience within a reputable mid-sized practice or larger firm (non-Big 4 preferred).
  • Expertise in auditing SMEs and group accounts.
  • Experience with due diligence engagements is advantageous.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of current audit practices, standards, and software.
  • Solid technical background in audit and accounting.

Additional Skills:

  • Exposure to tax work (useful but not essential).
  • Experience with both standalone SME clients and complex group structures.
  • Ability to adapt audit approaches to meet specific client needs and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
