Management Accountant

Reed Accountancy are currently seeking a part-qualified Management Accountant to join our client's finance team on a fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Finance Controller, this role is integral to accounting operations, working in close collaboration with local management and Paris headquarters. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct month-end entries including prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Manage monthly closings and reporting.
  • Post and reconcile IFRS16 leases.
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss accounts and conduct variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets and liaise with Consolidation teams in Paris.
  • Perform full reconciliation of all balance sheet balances.
  • Input data into consolidation/reporting package (Group tool).
  • Provide reporting analyses on cash flow, debt, corporation tax, etc.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax computation in liaison with external tax advisor.
  • Coordinate year-end audit with external auditors.
  • Prepare VAT returns and bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile and clear concessions accounts, as well as cash and credit card sales payments.
  • Offer operational support to stores and other Head Office departments.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects such as digitalisation of Petty Cash, participation in stock takes, and store support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified or partly qualified ACCA candidate.
  • Experience in accounts preparation.
  • Knowledge of VAT and corporation tax.
  • Experience in the retail industry is preferred.
  • Strong reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technical skills (UK GAAP and IFRS).
  • JDE and SAP experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • French language skills are an advantage.
