We are seeking a Theatre Accountant to join our vibrant theatre team. This role is ideal for someone who is fully ACCA or ACA qualified and has a passion for the arts, particularly theatre and live performances. The successful candidate will handle the financial aspects of our touring and standalone productions.
Day-to-day of the role:- Prepare four-weekly production accounts for various touring and standalone productions.
- Calculate four-weekly royalty payments to the creative team, covering licensing and fixed fees.
- Manage distributions to investors, including the return of capital and profit shares.
- Regularly liaise with and report to General Managers, Producers, and Investors.
- Prepare supporting documentation for Theatre Tax Credit claims and submissions to HMRC.
- Prepare statutory financial statements for submission to Companies House.
- Handle quarterly VAT returns and certification of figures for investors.
- Manage FEU (Foreign Entertainers Unit) applications and returns.
- Complete CT61 withholding tax returns.
- Fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA, or exceptionally qualified by experience.
- Excellent bookkeeping skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to organise own work and supervise junior team members.
- Proficient in meeting deadlines.
- IT skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel; familiarity with Xero and/or Caseware is preferable.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in preparing statutory financial statements.
- Good working knowledge of VAT.
- An extra-curricular interest in theatre and live performance is highly desirable.
