Grafton Banks Finance are working with a growing services company based in Liverpool Street in London. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant on a full time permanent basis working 3 days in office and 2 days from home. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller and supporting the Group Finance Function with the smooth running of the companies day to day finances.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Management of day-to-day accounting operations – including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger management and balance sheet control.
  • Assisting Senior Accountant with preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparation of VAT returns and assistance on VAT and Corporation tax matters.
  • Ensuring all transactions are recorded, filed and reported properly.
  • Assisting with the year end audit and accounts preparation process.
  • Preparation of monthly payroll.
  • Fund accounting and control
  • Processing of invoices and transactions within accounting ledger (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Bank statement reconciliations (Including chasing approvals /payments)
  • Preparation and delivery of quarterly management reporting
  • Raising invoices and credit control
  • Helping accountants to prepare quarterly VAT returns and annual accounts
  • Dealing with accounts queries
  • Ensuring timely payment of suppliers

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years practical working experience within a bust professional finance function
  • A confident, professional and pragmatic approach
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • IT Literate, with an in-depth knowledge of full Microsoft office suite of programmes
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Positive/flexible attitude and a willingness to learn
  • A quick thinker with a high level of initiative, who can adapt to changing work demands
  • Attention to detail
