K-People Europe is a recruitment consultancy specialized in Korean speaking jobs with a dedicated Korean recruitment consultant working in London since 2007.

Our client, a reputable international bank located in the heart of City of London, is looking for a Korean speaking Settlement Officer.

[Key Responsibilities](1) Process new transactions in the bank’s integrated network system including additional ad hoc.

(2) Review the morning reports obtained from Euroclear checking entries for activity expected on Securities coupons and settlements for both the bank’s account as well as its safe custody client accounts. Also investigating and processing any corporate actions due to take place on any holdings.

(3) Ensure all securities settlements are completed in Euroclear & chase / monitor if required

(4) Check and sign month end statements produced by Operations staff relating to clients’ security safe custody balances held in Euroclear (including updating the 6 monthly average balance spreadsheet for safe custody clients)

(5) Check new Securities instruments registered in the bank’s integrated network system

(6) Check Euroclear cash and securities movement entries for Repo transactions, new Securities transactions and CSA collateral settlement ensuring close liaison with trading staff where required

(7) The checking and approval of cash and settlement instructions in Euroclear

(8) The checking all initial paperwork, fixing and coupon interest entry prepared for GMTN transactions dealt.

(9) To calculate the semi-annual safe custody fees for applicable clients, providing data for checking

(10) Input all entries into Euroclear as provided registering each entry to the Euroclear check sheet

(11) The accurate registration of new Securities contracts in the bank’s integrated network system as requested by Traders for new transactions dealt

(12) Filing and scanning of all required transactions, entries and reports in an accurate and efficient manner

(13) Liaison and co-operation with other departments is a major part of the job, and confidence in their abilities to be able to handle queries when they arise is required.

[Training Provided]

(1) All training is given within the team using their already vast skills knowledge

(2) New staffs are required to learn how to process and be prepared to participate in all stages of the work flow as part of training and also be able to cover wherever required at all levels.

(3) The client is able to provide new candidates with an excellent learning curve due to their variety of products and processes handled. Ideal position for someone wishing to gain their first step into a banking environment or expand on knowledge already gained.

[Requirements](1) Must be fluent in both Korean & English

(2) Must have relevant experience or degree in finance/banking/accounting/management if fresh graduate

(3) Attention to detail with excellent numerical skills

(4) Must have excellent MS Excel skills & any experience with Euroclear desirable

(5) Flexible work attitude and willingness to participate in team work. This is a cross functional team and all colleagues are expected to cover all jobs within Operations
