Job Summary for Admin Support Officer
Location: Hackney Service CentreDirectorate: Adults, Health & IntegrationService: Adult Servicespay: £20.00 per hour
Purpose of the Job:The Business Support Officer provides high-quality, confidential administrative support primarily to the Complaints Team and Adult Social Care (ASC). This includes handling correspondence, updating records, financial administration (reconciliation of purchase orders and invoices), minute-taking, and coordinating meetings and workshops.
Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Responsibilities:- Lead financial administration, including purchase order and invoice reconciliation via the Council's e-procurement system.
- Support service improvements through innovation and effective decision-making.
- Deliver tasks aligned with Council policies and legal standards.
- Recommend and implement strategies for service improvement.
- Provide administrative support across ASC, including minute-taking and meeting coordination.
- Assist in managing complaints, compliments, and Freedom of Information requests by logging data and ensuring timely responses.
- Maintain high standards in correspondence, reports, and documentation.
- Monitor databases for financial transactions, liaise with suppliers, and ensure proper invoice payments.
- Coordinate workshops, seminars, and events as required.
- Support data collection and entry for Adult Social Care.

Knowledge:
- Familiarity with legislation related to Adult Social Care, data protection, and confidentiality.
Experience:
- Providing administrative support in large organisations or health/social care.
- Diary management, financial reconciliation, and invoice processing.
- Coordinating high-level meetings and producing related documentation.
- Using computer applications like Google Workspace, Cedar, and Icasework.
