Rate of Pay: £17 P/H (Umbrella)

Hours Per Week: 36 hours

Southwark Council are currently looking for an Administration Assistant to join their team on a contracted basis. This role will provide administrative support to Southwark Repairs team.

Main Duties:

  • Prepare and distribute information, ensure compliance with financial procedures, process payments, and implement financial controls while safeguarding assets.
  • Manage performance monitoring systems, process correspondence, conduct basic research, and provide reports on contractor performance and other operational matters.
  • Liaise with internal and external agencies, maintain accurate records, and ensure customer service standards are met, including addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Assist in managing contracts, including attending meetings, maintaining records, monitoring performance, ensuring technical inspections are booked, and ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

The Candidate:

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of customer-focused service delivery, particularly in housing repairs, and the impact of "right first time" service.
  • Possesses experience in working both independently and within a team, building relationships, and making sound decisions based on guidance and judgement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to different audiences while delivering effective solutions.
