This is a full-time temporary role, which will run for six months. It is offered on a hybrid working arrangement with at least two days on campus and the balance form home.
As a Business Support Officer, you will be a key player working to provide administrative support for important operational functions. You will be involved in a wide range of tasks which will include responsibility for managing a shared inbox, dealing effectively and efficiently with queries and signposting when necessary. In addition, you will assist with tasks relating to meetings, facilities and financial administration. You will also undertake other ad-hoc duties in order to assist colleagues and senior members of the team.
Business Support Officer Key Responsibilities:
- Providing a key point of contact for students, staff and academics - giving an exceptional service via shared inbox, MS Teams and in-person queries
- Supporting excellent calendar management including scheduling meetings and arranging room bookings and minute and note-taking as required
- Assisting with financial processes such as purchasing, budget tracking, and expense reconciliation
- Ensuring the smooth running of daily operations by managing office supplies, and liaising with Facilities and IT
- Arranging and organising departmental events and distributing information through email, MS Teams and Newsletters
- Offering assistance to the team with other ad hoc tasks including health and safety and maintaining records
Business Support Officer Key Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in office and operations administration, with experience in a customer facing role
- A confident and proactive approach to handling tasks, a team player with good interpersonal skills, exceptional organisation, time management and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent customer service with all stakeholders. In addition, good numerical skills with experience in processing basic financial transactions
- Highly Proficient IT skills including MS Office
