Governance Officer, Museum, London, Temp role, 4-6 weeks initially £17.00 p/h plus holiday pay, hybrid working

Renowned Museum based in London, is looking for a Governance Officer to start ASAP. You need to be immediately available.

The main duties of the Governance Officer role are:

  • Coordinating Board level meetings, taking minutes, preparing agendas distributing papers
  • Managing diaries and travel arrangements, dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence, filing (paper and digital) and maintaining supplies of stationery for the office, raising purchase orders for departmental procurement and other support duties as required.
  • Processing expense claims
  • Provide secretarial support which will include organising meetings, preparing, and distributing papers and updating on progress periodically
  • Support the smooth running of meetings and seminars, providing refreshments where required
  • Provide support in making arrangements for VIP visits
  • Organise and contribute to the organisation and running of various museum functions, which will include private views, evening receptions, luncheons, and special tours
  • Liaise with a wide range of people including the Chairman, Trustees, colleagues at all levels, academics, diplomats, senior officials, publishers etc., sometimes on matters of a confidential nature.
  • Maintaining the filing system

Skills and experience needed

  • Significant administrative experience
  • Minute taking essential
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with an ability to communicate at all levels
  • Highly organised
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Good knowledge of all Microsoft packages
