About Our Client:

Are you a dynamic and experienced leader with a passion for delivering high-quality support services? The London Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Business Support Manager to join the People Directorate, working within Social Care sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our front-line services operate efficiently and effectively, meeting their strategic aims.

4 Teams are managed by the Business Support Managers. Contract administration, Child protection and early intervention, Social Work Support, Children's Safeguarding

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a comprehensive and high-quality support service to front-line services, enabling them to carry out their duties effectively
  • Supervise and provide performance management for the Business Support Team
  • Set clear objectives and raise performance standards to ensure achievement of strategic aims
  • Implement process and system improvements to enhance service delivery
  • Oversee all administrative arrangements, including meeting preparations and record-keeping
  • Maintain relevant finance and HR records, ensuring compliance with policies and standards
  • Foster effective communication and partnership working with stakeholders
  • Act as a customer champion, focusing on delivering excellent services and continuous improvement
  • Lead and develop the team, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience in managing teams and working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations
  • Proficient in maintaining diaries, records, and written correspondence
  • Excellent note-taking and minute recording skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, such as Children's Act, Care Act, GDPR, and Data Protection Act
  • Experience in dealing with elected members
