Resident Service Officer

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a dedicated and knowledgeable Resident Service Officer to join their team. This role involves delivering exceptional services to residents across a range of housing tenures, with a particular focus on income collection, tenancy compliance, and customer relations.

As a Resident Service Officer, you will play a key role in maximising income collection and debt recovery while providing a customer-focused service. You will enforce tenancy and lease agreements, handle breaches of terms, and take enforcement actions, including preparing and submitting applications for court proceedings and representing the council at hearings. Your duties will also include supporting vulnerable residents to sustain their tenancies, addressing tenancy breaches, and signposting individuals to appropriate support networks and services.

The role requires managing inquiries and complaints, promoting payment methods, and advising residents on welfare entitlements and financial support options. You will oversee the Right to Buy process, manage shared equity schemes, and ensure leasehold compliance, including issuing formal consultation notices and responding to leaseholder inquiries. Additionally, you will facilitate property selection, sales processes, and property resales, maintaining up-to-date records and using IT systems for monitoring and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multi-tenure housing management and specialist knowledge in areas such as income collection, leasehold management, tenancy sustainment, or major works consultation. A minimum of two years' experience in a resident services environment is required, with skills in customer communication, workload prioritization, and IT proficiency. Familiarity with welfare regulations, relevant legislation, and court proceedings relating to housing is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment where their contributions will have a direct impact on improving residents' lives. If you have the skills, experience, and passion for delivering exceptional services, we want to hear from you. Competitive pay rates are offered for this role.
