We are seeking an Assessment Administrator to join our dynamic team within the School of the Arts. This role is crucial for the administration of assessment procedures for all taught programmes. The successful candidate will provide a highly professional and efficient service, ensuring compliance with both School and University regulations, and work closely with academic staff to facilitate smooth assessment processes.
Day-to-day of the role:- Serve as the administrative point of contact for students seeking advice on examination and assessment procedures and outcomes.
- Oversee all processes and policies relating to examinations and assessment within the School.
- Provide expert support and meet with students and staff, possessing full knowledge of the academic regulations.
- Manage the organisation and administrative support for the School’s Examination Boards, ensuring that Boards are serviced by members of the School’s Student Engagement team.
- Disseminate decisions of the Subject Examination Boards as appropriate.
- Liaise with subject exam board chairs to support engagement with External examiners and ensure appropriate and timely allocation of modules, preparation of moderation packs, and external examiners packs.
- Organise the smooth running of assessments, including exam paper production, setting up online assessments, organising invigilators, ensuring marking deadlines are met, and managing the student feedback processes.
- Oversee and monitor the timetabling of assessment-related activities, ensuring student needs are considered.
- Manage dissemination of late summer resit coursework assessments to students.
- Work closely with the School’s Digital Learning team to ensure efficient use for recording, storing, and releasing marks and feedback.
- Manage the transfer of marks into MySiS, including the addition or removal of late penalties as required.
- Ensure effective management of all problems and issues raised during the examination process to ensure continuity of service delivery and problem-solving for all stakeholders.
- Proven experience in an administrative role within an educational setting, preferably in examinations and assessments.
- Strong understanding of academic regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work closely with various stakeholders including students, academic staff, and external examiners.
- Proficient in using educational management systems like MySiS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage unforeseen issues effectively.
