- Acting as a single point of contact in relation to all events and incidents within the Tunnel, ensuring that the appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner.

- Liaising directly with the Emergency Services and deployed resources, ensuring any additional support is swiftly identified and deployed.
- Maintain and manage the information flow and ensure regular contact with Transport for London (TfL) to support the management of the Strategic Road Network (SRN).
- Produce and maintain accurate records of all incidents and events that may occur within the Project Facilities.
- Record all relevant information in the relevant database.
- Monitor traffic flows and congestion via CCTV and implement the most appropriate response plan, deploying resources where necessary and as required.
- Support both planned and emergency traffic management interventions to establish safe working environments in-line with plans and working procedures, by setting complementary systems settings, this includes, lane, bore and Tunnel closures and reverse flow operations.
- Monitor security of both the Primary and Secondary Tunnel Service Building’s.
- Record and disseminate all Winter Maintenance decisions during the winter service period.
- Log/record all safety observations and forward reports to the relevant teams.
- Monitor radio communications, ensuring a strict radio discipline is maintained.
- Constant monitoring of all Tunnel systems availability, and functionality. Implementing mitigations and reporting any system outages to the appropriate team for rectification.
- Respond to any TfL enquiries relating to Project Facilities.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Tunnel Control System (TCS), asset management system and incident plans.
- Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
- Support the TCC Supervisor with administrative tasks.
- Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
- NVQ in Tunnel operations – Desirable
- Experience of working in a 24/7 and/or control room environment – Desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. – Essential
- Ability to effectively perform within a team, sometimes within high pressure environments. – Essential
- Computer literate adept with Microsoft programmes and other applications. – Essential
- Good interpersonal skills. – Essential
