The Assistant General Manager will play a critical role in the leadership team, supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations and driving exceptional customer service for a high-volume, luxury dining establishment. Key Responsibilities:Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations to ensure efficiency, high standards, and smooth service.
- Ensure the team is equipped and motivated to provide a memorable guest experience that aligns with the brands luxurious image.
- Work with the General Manager to implement strategies for customer retention, repeat business, and optimal operational performance.
Team Management and Development:
- Support in recruiting, training, and developing staff to maintain a highly skilled and professional team.
- Foster a positive, high-energy work environment that aligns with company values and culture.
- Act as a mentor to team members, providing constructive feedback and encouraging professional growth.
Financial Accountability:
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance, ensuring revenue and cost targets are met.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to manage inventory, reduce waste, and enhance profitability.
- Analyse sales and labour reports, identifying trends and making data-driven adjustments to improve performance.
Brand and Standards Management:
- Ensure all customer interactions reflect the standards and style expected of a luxury, upmarket brand.
- Maintain and uphold hygiene, health, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with marketing and events teams for promotions, VIP events, and special functions.
Experience:
- Ideally 2+ years in a General Manager role within a high-smaller volume, luxury restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and delivering exceptional service in a luxury environment.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
