Job Title: Senior HR AdvisorReports to: Senior HR Business Partner

Role OverviewThe Senior HR Advisor provides hands-on HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and data management. Working closely with senior leadership, line managers, and an HR Apprentice, this role ensures effective HR practices and policies are implemented.

Must HAVES:

- CIPD level 5

- Education Sector Experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & On-boarding

    • Manage recruitment processes, including job ads, interview scheduling, and pre-employment checks.
    • Oversee new staff inductions in collaboration with managers and the professional development team.
    • Maintain compliance records and essential HR documentation.
  • Employee Relations & Policy

    • Advise on employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance, and absence management.
    • Support managers on performance issues, change management, and team building.
    • Assist in developing and communicating HR policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • HR Data Management & Payroll

    • Track and advise on staff absence, leave records, and probation periods.
    • Ensure accuracy of the HR Information System.
    • Support payroll processes by overseeing monthly submissions and addressing payroll queries.
  • Staff Development

    • Coach managers and staff on HR practices and policy application.
    • Supervise the HR Apprentice and oversee their development.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in HR advisory roles, ideally within the education sector.
  • Knowledge of employment law, HR systems, and best practices.
  • CIPD qualified (or working towards it).
  • Strong English, math, and interpersonal skills.
