**Job Description: Head Chef at a Spanish Cuisine Restaurant**
The Head Chef at the Spanish Cuisine Restaurant will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences that celebrate the rich flavors and traditions of Spanish cuisine. **Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Menu Development:** The Head Chef will lead the improvment and creation of an the menu. This includes researching and experimenting with seasonal ingredients and regional specialties.
2. **Kitchen Management:** Overseeing all kitchen operations, the Head Chef will ensure efficiency and productivity while maintaining adherence to health and safety regulations. This includes managing food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
3. **Team Leadership:** The Head Chef will train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. This includes conducting regular staff meetings, providing constructive feedback, and promoting professional development.
4. **Quality Control:** The Head Chef will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and safety. This involves regular tasting and inspecting of dishes before they leave the kitchen.
5. **Inventory and Ordering:** The Head Chef will manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring the kitchen is always well-stocked with high-quality ingredients. They will also control food costs and waste to maximize profitability.
6. **Collaboration:** The Head Chef will work closely with the restaurant management team to ensure the seamless execution of service, including menu planning for events and special occasions.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a restaurant producing Spanish cuisine. Tapas dishes preferred. - Extensive knowledge of Spanish culinary techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff.- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.- A culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.- Strong communication skills and a passion for food and hospitality.
Due to the nature of this position, you would be required to work evening services especially over weekends.
