Singapulah is the restaurant concept by the Chew On This Group. Located in the heart of London at 53 Shaftesbury Avenue, the 100-cover site, spread across three floors, will showcase Singaporean cultural heritage and flavours through unique food products from Singaporean food manufacturers, many of which were never available in the United Kingdom until now.

Singapulahs focus on authenticity, ingredients, thebrands, thedecor, the method of cooking and the expertise of the chef will bring the essence of the diverse culinary landscape of Singapore to London.

The restaurant launch is supported by Enterprise Singapore, the Singapore government agency championing enterprise development, and the Singapore Brand Office, with promotional support from Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Global Network.

Singapulahs carefully curated menu celebrates the status of the islands food culture by incorporating ingredients and products from Singapores very own home grown food manufacturers. More than 70% of ingredients used are imported directly from Singapore, to name a few: tea dust, coffee powder, noodles, fishballs, sauces and even ice cream.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage, train, and inspire the kitchen team to deliver exceptional food.
  • Ensure a smooth, efficient kitchen operation while maintaining the highest standards of service and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design new dishes and seasonal menus.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee mise en place preparation and ensure dishes are cooked and presented to company standards.
  • Ensure all team members follow food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
  • Manage stock, inventory, and cost control measures to maintain profitability.
  • Create and manage rotas to ensure consistent service.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure every dish delights our guests, meeting or exceeding their expectations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to any food-related guest feedback.
What Were Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, high-quality restaurant.
  • A passion for South East Asian cuisine (experience in this is a bonus!).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
