Your new employer is a global, niche insurance product provider (part of a larger group) who are a leader in their sector.
Overview
They are seeking an IT Manager to head up a small London-based team. The person will be dedicated, experienced and be directly involved in day-to-day activities adopting very much a 'hands-on' approach, rather than purely managerial oversight.
The role is to oversee and manage the International IT infrastructure, security and applications development to ensure that they meet the needs of the business working closely with outsourced IT developers together with other stakeholders within the wider group. This role will ensure that the IT environment supports the insurance being written and providing a robust framework that is scalable to support future business growth.
The role requires a person with a broad mix of skills and experience including IT infrastructure, applications and systems development. The person will be required to manage a small team in London responsible for business analysis, testing and support.
What you need to show
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in IT within a Lloyds / London Market (re)insurance business.(ESSENTIAL)
- Experience in leading a small team
- Strong understanding of cyber security / working with outsourced service providers / infrastrucure / project management
- Confidence and curiosity to identify when things don't look correct and to explore the causes;
- Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Able to use initiative and work proactively
- Prince 2 qualification (desirable)
