Credit Controller

Location: Holborn, London

Hours: Mon-Fri 9.30am-6.00pm

Type: Hybrid working, 3 days in the office, 2 days from home

Our client is a specialist residential real estate company which acquires a substantial portfolio of properties specialising in residential delivering serviced apartments, private rental and housing of multiple occupancy (HMO).

The London office is a young, dynamic, and thriving business that is continuing to seek new opportunities for development and growth. The office is based in central London with easy access to transport links.

The Credit Control team comprises of two Credit Controllers, a Senior Credit Controller and the Credit Control Manager. The team works closely with other departments of the Company to ensure that rent is collected in a timely manner avoiding large rental debts.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing young company and to develop within the business.

The Role:You will play a crucial role in ensuring the Company’s income cash flow maintains a healthy level and uphold ethical values which align with the Company’s values.

Your essential duties and responsibilities are:• To collect rents and all other charges due from Tenants in accordance with contract agreements on or before the due date as per the lease• Work to set targets as laid down by the Manager in order to maintain a minimum of 98% collection• Analyse arrears reports for all relevant parties as required in accordance with the client service level agreements.• To ensure the Credit Control Manager as well as other department members are advised of any potential serious issues and/or payment defaults as soon as they occur in order to be dealt with by the management.• Ensure up to date and accurate records are kept of all calls, action taken and correspondence relating to the tenants’ accounts.• Reviewing and resolving tenant queries as/when necessary• Providing copy of invoices to tenants as/when requested• All incoming communication by email or telephone messages must be responded to.• Analysing, identifying "Late Payers" and proactively escalating to Credit Control Manager and/or other departments for best approach solution

• Follow debt recovery procedures for each client depending on requirements and to liaise with the property manager on any dispute issues on a timely basis.

• Reconciling tenant ledger and identifying outstanding debt• Issuing final letters where appropriate and following up.• Preparing the relevant documentation for Enforcement Agents/Solicitors based on property managers/clients’ request.• Monitoring and assisting in clearing items from both the "Unidentified and Unallocated cash" reports.• Attending arrears meetings with Property Managers and/or the Company’s Clients as/when required.• Prioritising your workload on a daily basis.• Ad hoc reporting• Assist other functions and provide the necessary support to the credit control team and all property managers as/when necessary.• Undertake ad-hoc tasks as and when required.

About YouWe are looking for a responsible and proactive individual with previous credit control experience and knowledge, good communication skills and able to adapt to different styles whilst remaining calm during difficult situations. You will be poses:

Experience & Skills• Proven experience in a similar role public facing and/or dealing with customers in person or via telephone;• Personable and empathetic with strong communication, numerical and analytical skills both verbally and written to liaise with tenants and external parties• Good attention to detail and methodical approach• Ability to work within deadlines and to various competing demands and manage own workload.• Ability to work flexibly as/when required.• Able to prioritise tasks, remain calm and work under pressure.• Be diligent, well organised, dependable and a strong work-ethic• Proactive individual who can work autonomously but also as part of a team.• Ability to find solutions to issues and improve processes.• Confident IT literacy to communicate via various digital forms
