Credit Controller - Property Management

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000.

Location: East London

Hybrid: 4 days in the office per week

An exciting and rare opportunity to join a UK leading property management business headquartered in the heart of London's financial district.

They currently develop, manage and own approximately millions of square feet of mixed-use space and over 1,000+Build to Rent apartments. They also have over £2bn worth of construction activity in the pipeline and currently over 2000 new homes for sale and rent.

They are looking for an experienced property Credit Controller to come and join their rapidly growing team on a permanent basis.

Main responsibilities and requirements:

  • 4+ years previous credit control experience within the property management sector
  • Experience in collection, arrears and aged debt reporting
  • Strong experience in maintaining positive relationships with tenants, property managers and internal stakeholders
  • Generate and issue accurate arrears statements to tenants.
  • Work closely with the rest of the accounts receivable team to ensure proper documentation and recording of financial transactions.
  • Generate regular reports on the status of outstanding invoices and collections.
  • Attend regular meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and agree strategies.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups on overdue payments and implement strategies to recover outstanding debts.
  • Negotiate and agree on payment plans with tenants when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and tenants to ensure open communication regarding outstanding payments.
  • Provide guidance and training to credit control staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning to optimize team performance and achieve departmental goals.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with delinquent tenants and clients, collaborating with property managers and AR management team to resolve disputes and minimize financial losses.
  • Analyse credit and collections data to identify trends, assess portfolio performance, and forecast cash flow projections. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key metrics and actionable insights.
  • Strong excel - VLU's and pivot tables

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4 years previous recent experience working as a Credit Controller within property and have extensive reporting and client facing experience.

You will be well organised with an analytical mind and be competent using Excel up to V Look Ups and pivot tables. This leading UK firm look for people who are dynamic with strong interpersonal skills, able to take initiative and work as part of a team.
