Employee Relations Advisor

We are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join our People Relations and Wellbeing team. This role is crucial in providing expert, values-based, and people-centred solutions in employee relations. The successful candidate will be a part of a centre of expertise, working collaboratively to deliver an efficient service and adopting a data-led approach to enhance people relations and wellbeing.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage end-to-end coordination of people relations casework, ensuring services are professional, timely, and adhere to our values.
  • Provide expert advice, support, and coaching to managers on a range of people relations issues such as grievance, discipline, and absence management.
  • Draft and proofread high-quality documentation related to people relations, including materials for employment tribunals.
  • Implement creative solutions to resolve people relations issues, using external legal advice as necessary.
  • Record and document all casework meticulously, ensuring transparency and continuity within the team.
  • Contribute to the wellbeing strategy by integrating wellbeing data into case and policy reviews.
  • Participate in and lead reviews of people relations casework, identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Maintain productive relationships with trade unions and representative groups, promoting early conflict resolution.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training related to people relations management.
  • Handle data requests and perform basic analysis to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • CIPD Level 3/5 qualification with Associate CIPD status or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Extensive experience in managing end-to-end people relations casework.
  • Proven ability to coach and train managers on people relations issues.
  • Excellent negotiation and influence skills, capable of working effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Excellent written communication skills and experience in drafting complex documents.
  • Proficient in using HR information systems and basic data analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
