TALENT ACQUISITION ADVISOR / PARTNER - HIGHER EDUCATION

Overall purpose
As a dynamic and results-driven recruiter who is engaged in attracting talents focused on Higher Education, you will be instrumental in recruiting high quality academic teaching staff, and professionals dedicated to enhancing students learning experience The recruiter will be collaborating closely with the academic management teams, contribute to the recruitment efforts to attract diverse talent and contribute to ongoing growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of recruitment best practices within the higher education sector, excellent communication skills, and a passion for finding the right fit for both the candidate and the organisation.
Specific duties and responsibilities
RESOURCE PLANNING
- Collaborate with academic departments and senior leadership to understand staffing needs and develop tailored recruitment plans.
- Create and own a social media plans using tool such as LinkedIn.
- Explore new opportunities and be engaged on various social media platforms to recruit potential academics from Higher Education sector.
- Source and attract candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals.
- Manage all advertising and agency relationships, negotiating favorable rates.
- Work with the Marketing team and ensure the Regent brand supports recruiting high-caliber candidates from the higher education sector.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
- Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews when required to assess candidate qualifications and fit for the role.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interview coordination and offer negotiation.
- Facilitate the interview process, including providing guidance to hiring managers on best practices for interviewing and evaluation.
- Take lead and full responsibility for on campus recruitment day interviews.
- Ensure that candidates receive a high-quality experience throughout the recruitment process.
RECRUITMENT COMPLIANCE
- Coordinate with hiring stakeholders including HR team members to implement best practices, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and enhance the candidate experience. Conduct comprehensive interviews and assessments to evaluate candidate qualifications, teaching/research potential, and alignment with values and culture.
- Leverage technology, including applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software and maintain accurate candidate records.
- Represent at recruitment events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote brand and engage with potential candidates.
- Stay informed about trends and developments in higher education recruitment, including diversity initiatives, emerging job roles, and evolving candidate preferences.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
o Support the implementation of new recruitment processes/procedures.
o Support the HR team on occasions with all new starters.
o Support audits and regulatory requirements, when required.
o Assist with inputs to the recruitment and payroll tracker for new starters.
o This is not an exhaustive list there will be additional ad hoc HR duties as and when required.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in recruitment, with a focus on staff positions within the higher education sector.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. HR certification preferred.
- Proven track record of sourcing and hiring academic talent in a competitive market.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices, including sourcing techniques, interview skills, and employment law.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple vacancies in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and other recruitment tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
- Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role.
