We are working with a well-known Travel Association company based in Central London, who looking to bring in a proven Business Development Manager, within their Events & Partnerships team!

The focus of this role will be selling sponsorship packages across this companies Conferences and Events portfolio and recruiting new Partners. The position will also develop meaningful relationships with company Partners and other stakeholders, ensuring a holistic and consultative approach to account management.

Duties:

  • To sell sponsorship, exhibition packages and speaking packages across the company portfolio of
  • Liaising with the company's wider partnerships team to develop relationships with the existing sponsors, Partners and other industry
  • Ensure that sponsorship arrangements add value to the content and overall shape of the events, seeking involvement from those most likely to create strong and marketable event content, not just those willing to pay the highest fees (the Head of Events will be able to veto any sponsorship arrangements deemed detrimental to the events programme).

  • To attend events, external meetings and major industry exhibitions and
  • To develop a network of contacts and build relationships with industry
  • Responsibility for the sponsorship booking process, working with the team to ensure contracts and the CRM is updated.
  • Own the Partner recruitment strategy, work with the Head of Events and Partnership
  • Manager to develop growth areas, and actively seek to recruit Partners within the agreed-upon plan.
  • Ensure the right quality and calibre of Partners via due diligence and monitoring.
  • Take a holistic and trusted consultative approach to account management, ensuring that the Partner portfolio values the company Partnership.
  • Liaise with the event management team regarding administration, event content, venue set up and on-the-day management.

The Person:

  • Experience in selling event sponsorship (minimum of 5 years).
  • Good knowledge of the Travel Industry
  • Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders at executive and C-Suite
  • Ability to strategically plan and prioritise engagement with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline driven role with multi-stakeholder engagement.
  • A desire to work as part of a team to generate fresh and innovative ideas.
  • Experience in working with CRM systems.
  • Strong presentation skills and excellent written and verbal skills.
  • A tactful and considered approach with a professional attitude and a passion for delivering excellent service.

The package:

  • A salary of circa £50,000 (depending on experience) + commission
