Accounts Manager
Our client, a well-established business in Hendon, is seeking an Accounts Manager to take full control of their accounts department. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual with at least 7 years of experience in bookkeeping and a proven ability to streamline processes and add value to the business.
As the Accounts Manager, you will manage all aspects of the company's finances, with the support of a small team, and play a pivotal role in transitioning away from manual spreadsheets to fully utilising Xero Accounting Software for job costing and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raising sales invoices as required.
- Credit control and ensuring timely payments.
- Raising purchase orders and matching/checking them against supplier invoices.
- Processing payroll, including preparing monthly returns.
- Calculating commissions and profit share accurately.
- Overseeing the processing of approximately 250 purchase invoices per month.
- Managing supplier payments and VAT returns.
- Transitioning the company's financial processes to maximise the use of Xero, particularly the job costing module, to eliminate duplicate data entry and enhance reporting.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum of 7 years in a similar role, with a strong track record of managing and improving financial systems.
- Full proficiency with all modules of Xero Accounting Software, including job costing and producing revenue/cost reports on a per-job basis.
- A self-starter who can take full control of the accounts department with minimal supervision and provide valuable insights to improve efficiency.
- Comfortable starting on a part-time basis (2.5 - 3 days per week) and increasing hours as required. Flexible regarding which days are worked.
- Able to delegate tasks effectively and work collaboratively with existing staff.
- Office-based in Hendon.
What's on Offer:
Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours, depending on experience)
Hours: Starting at 3/4 hours a day, with the flexibility to increase hours as required. Days worked can be flexible to suit.
