My client, a Not For Profit organisation based in the_KINGS CROSS_area is seeking a_Finance Manager to join them whilst they experience unprecedented growth for a 12 month period.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce a year end timetable
  • Ensure the timely closure of the year end ledgers and processing of all relevant journals including accruals, prepayments and deferred income;
  • Oversee the production of all year end schedules, delegating and supervising the team
  • Draft the statutory accounts in compliance with relevant legislation
  • Be the main point of contact for the auditors during the audit
  • Assist the CFO with drafting the financial elements of the trustees report.
  • Authorise the quarterly VAT returns and annual adjustment calculations
  • Ensure the gift aid payment from the trading subsidiary is paid and accounted for correctly;
  • Ensure the trading subsidiary corporation tax return is submitted on time;
  • Ensure the submission all necessary PAYE returns;
  • Line management of the team including regular supervisions and annual appraisals;
  • Regular supervision and appraisal of direct reports; ensuring that learning and development needs are identified.
  • Oversee the day to day tasks to ensure the finance systems are maintained in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Ensure the controls in the financial procedures manual are implemented effectively;
  • Monitor cash flow and bank balances regularly to ensure the organisation can meet its obligations
  • Manage the finance team budget and non-team budget codes;

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Qualified or QBE
  • Detailed knowledge of SORP (FRS102) and understanding of the not for profit sector
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft excel and other Microsoft office software.
  • Knowledge of VAT as it applies to voluntary organisations.
  • Experience of working in a finance team including: Experience of using spreadsheets to macro level, Preparation of financial reports, Preparation of year end accounts.
  • Experience of working on a systems implementation/transformational change
  • Line management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in particular liaising with non-finance staff.
