A public sector organisation are currently recruiting for a Shared Service Manager within corporate services on a permanent basis.

Based in central London, they offer hybrid working with an average officer attendance of 1 – 2 days per week. They have amazing benefits as well. (see below)

Reporting to the Head of Financial Oversight and Corporate Services, you be the client-side lead for a number of support and enabling services delivered under shared and contracted out service arrangements. This would include working collaboratively with shared service and other partners to drive efficiencies and increase performance levels in service delivery ensuring best value is achieved and a high standard of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Shared service arrangements

  • Responsible for directly managing shared services under contract on issues including but not limited to IT/digital/technology, estates, health and safety, including ensuring high levels of customer service are provided under these arrangements.
  • Management of all IT assets ensuring hardware and software are accounted for, deployed, maintained, upgraded and disposed of appropriately and securely.
  • Oversight of all shared and contracted out service development projects
  • Ensure that reliable operational service levels and high level of customer service is provided by Provide accurate and meaningful management information and budgetary information on a regular as to the performance of all shared service and contracted out providers, highlighting any risks, and recommendations for change as needed.
  • Ensure that formal agreements are in place for all shared services
  • Responsible for the management of supplier relationships
  • Formulate or contribute to business cases, advising on best practice, particularly on IT and digital matters
  • Manage the coordination of health and safety 

IT, Digital, Data and Estates

  • Ensure they have Digital and Estates Strategies, which are aligned to business plan, and ensure they have modern and fit-for-purpose standard accommodation and IT/digital solutions which support remote and flexible working
  • Identify and evaluate new and emerging technologies that deliver effective, secure digital/ communications products and
  • Oversee any IT and Estates
  • Responsible for the development and embedding of best practice IT and Digital policies
  • Be the lead officer for all IT and digital data security and data protection matters
  • Responsible officer for digital information and data governance
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate

Essential

  • Experience of managing shared or contracted out services or similar arrangements
  • Track record in driving out efficiencies and improving supplier service delivery performance levels
  • Experience in using digital technologies to drive service and customer service improvements
  • Direct experience of overseeing IT and Digital organisational solutions
  • Experience of data governance processes and familiarity with regulatory/legal requirements
