Are you an experienced finance professional with expertise in debt recovery and a strong understanding of Adult Social Care? Can you lead a stable team, manage complex complaints, and oversee financial performance in a sensitive and customer-focused manner?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to oversee the Debt Recovery and Financial Assessments team, ensuring the smooth running of financial operations in Adult Social Care. This role involves managing outstanding care contributions, handling complex complaints (including Ombudsman cases), and working closely with senior stakeholders across two boroughs.

Job Overview:

As Finance Manager, you will:? Lead and manage a stable and experienced team of financial assessment officers and debt recovery specialists.? Oversee debt recovery operations, ensuring efficient collection of outstanding contributions from individuals receiving care.? Ensure accurate financial assessments are conducted in compliance with The Care Act 2014.? Manage sensitive financial cases, working compassionately with vulnerable individuals and their families.? Handle complex complaints, including escalations to senior management and the Ombudsman.? Work closely with corporate finance and wider local government teams to align financial strategies.? Oversee key financial metrics, including bad debt provisions

About You:

? Extensive experience in debt recovery within Adult Social Care finance, local government, or related sectors.? In-depth understanding of The Care Act 2014 and its impact on financial assessments and income recovery.? Strong ability to manage sensitive financial issues with diplomacy, professionalism, and empathy.? A problem-solver with a proactive and adaptable mindset—open to change and innovation.? Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience handling high-profile cases and member enquiries.? Experience managing financial assessments is desirable but not essential.

Current Team & Structure:

? Reports directly to (Finance Manager)? Works across two boroughs within a shared staffing partnership.? Supported by two experienced team leaders.
