New and diverse role working alongside the Head of DA Operations Europe/UK.

You will manage a small team and will critically assess and review procedures and processes within Administration, Management Information, and Technical Accounts functions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead projects and analyse operational performance making enhancements and working towards best practice.

You will be involved in:

Operational Support

Liaising with MGAs and reinsurers from initial engagement through to post-live account handling. Manage the reporting and operations workstream during the on-boarding of new programmes.

Financial Reporting

Ensure timely information delivery to internal actuaries for quarterly management accounts and Solvency II filings.

Global Reporting Strategy

Collaborate with US counterparts to develop and maintain global reporting strategy.

Analytics and Reporting

Develop analytics and commentary for committee and board reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Regulatory Compliance

Liaise with the Compliance Team on regulatory requirements and document submissions for multiple regulators. Maintain compliance with applicable UK or international statutory or regulatory obligations including Operational Resilience.

Resource Planning

Support the management of the pipeline and efficient planning of resources and integration of operational processes.

Due Diligence

Conduct systems, reporting, and operational due diligence for new programme opportunities.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work with IT, Senior Management, Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Risk Management to ensure data and operational integrations meet requirements.

Operations Due Diligence

Working Papers and Presentations Prepare Operations Due Diligence working papers for various internal committees to ensure informed decisions can be made,

Partner Satisfaction

Ensure external partner satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and resolving issues promptly.

Data Integration

Work with the IT team to ensure data delivery from MGAs, integration into back-office systems, and provision of data to reinsurers.

Best Practices

Develop and implement best practice procedures for technical operation integration of new programmes. Incorporate continuous improvement where possible to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • You will need a solid understanding of a delegated authority business model with strong experience in operations including business processes
  • Extensive knowledge of reinsurance contract wording and accounting principles (commission slides, profit commissions, and commutations).
  • Strong service orientation with a proven track record in implementing teams/systems and leveraging technology to optimise and automate business processes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, including producing easily understandable reports and presentations.
  • Strategic thinker with confidence in dealing with numbers and producing high-level reconciliations.
  • Team player with good communication and presentation skills, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience dealing with bodies such as Pool Re, Flood Re, MIB, MID, CUE, and FSCCS and equivalents in other jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of regulations surrounding non-admitted insurance/reinsurance placements and market protocol.
