We are inviting applications for Deputy Head of Credit for an international Bank based in city of London . This position is reporting Head Credit and Senior Management with in the Bank.

DUTIES / JOB DESCRIPTION

Key

Accountabilities

路 Assess the creditworthiness of current and prospective Clients to determine the level of risk.

路 Write recommendation reports and present to Credit Approval Committee.

路 Approve credit proposals within delegated authority.

路 Evaluate a client's financial statements and credit reports to determine the ability to service debt obligations.

路 Assess the quality of credit proposals providing feedback to the frontline and Head of Credit.

路 Identify potential enhancements and streamlining to the credit application and approval process.

路 Ensure loan applications comply with the Bank's Credit Policy and Appetite.

路 Adherence to regulatory guidelines.

路 Take ownership of reporting requirements internally and externally in relation to the monitoring of credit facilities.

路 Act as a sounding board to the frontline on lending proposals.

路 Establishment of strong working relationships at all levels

路 Support the development of an appropriate risk culture within the business including providing support and training in credit risk analysis.

路 Credit structuring skills which are sufficiently robust to challenge proposed structures & suggest alternatives to improve risk mitigation.

路 Previous management experience is desirable

路 Liaison with Credit Administration, Remedial Management, Monitoring Unit, Finance, Compliance & Audit for processes relating to Credit Approval function

路 Provide training to Branch credit staff on corporate risk analysis, rating tools, financial analysis, and overall proposal preparation and review

Skills and Experience Required

* Minimum 7 years UK experience of approving loans to trading businesses (Hotels, Care Homes, Retail etc) and Real Estate (Buy to Let and Development)

* Sound decision making

* Effective verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.

* Effective presentation skills

* Regulatory compliance knowledge and understanding of industry best practices.

* Accuracy and attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines

* Experience in producing MI using Excel
