Finance & Operations Manager

Leading start up is looking for an organised and results-driven Operations and Finance Manager to join a dynamic growing team and take charge of their continued expansion.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation, and will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, developing and implementing operational strategies, and ensuring the efficient and effective management of business

You will possess a strong financial acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for leisure and community building.

The Role

As the Finance and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for running finance and business operations, from supporting Their fundraising and investor relations work through to the details around their financial processes and controls.

You will have overall responsibility for the financial management, cost control and cash management of the company. You will develop and oversee the company's financial strategy and provide strategic financial advice and proposals to the Senior Management Team and the Board.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
  • Manage cash flow, financial risks, and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • You will work closely with our founders and board of directors to support our strategic analysis and plans and turning strategies into budgets into deliverable plans which are delegated, delivered and tracked effectively across a diverse team
  • Monitor the market environment to discuss and act on business opportunities with CEO
  • Implement and run operational tasks related to the business as a whole
  • Build infrastructure and management systems, alongside playbook to handle multi club growth.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA, ICAS or ACCA with at least 5 years post qualifications.
  • Financial management experience, including setting and managing budgets and forecasts, presenting analysis and sound commercial decision making
  • Experience FP&A, MI, financial systems, cash management, financial reporting and regulatory reporting
  • Commercial experience in a Finance Manager or similar level role leading a team of 3 - 5 people required
  • Start-up or high growth business) to ensure that you can see the 'bigger’ picture.
  • Solid and demonstrable experience working with senior management and being their 'righthand’ person and ability to bring commercial insights and delivery experience to an impact-led environment
  • Have experience preparing materials for fundraising events, including financial forecasts, business plans and investor presentations.
  • Experience in leading and implementing budget and forecasting cycles
  • Experience with Enterprise Software Accounting solutions ideally in Xero
  • Be a clear leader for the team, actively delegating tasks, and courageously addressing necessary discussions.
