QUICK START

VisionFR is working with an award-winning Strategic Communications Agency based in London, it is an SME agency of around 60 client facing team members and team of 4 within Finance. The agency is undergoing rapid growth and is needing to Employ a strong Finance Manager into the team. The role will report into and work closely with the CFO to improve the financial processes and systems, allowing scalability and provision of high-quality financial information. The role will work closely with the client facing teams on revenue, Data analysis and general commercial support. Mentoring and developing the junior finance team members is also key.

The Key Tasks & Responsibilities of the Finance Manager

Management of the core finance function

  • Maintenance of the Paprika accounting system.
  • Weekly reviews of cash book, aged creditors and debtors.
  • Month end process, including production of management accounts.
  • Working capital management. Ensuring bills are raised and costs paid in a timely manner.
  • Manage external relationships including payroll, pension and insurance providers.
  • Tax and statutory returns including VAT and Companies House.
  • Training and mentoring of Accounts Assistant

Working with the Wider agency

  • Assist client teams with budget preparation during pitches and fee reviews.
  • Collation of staff timesheet data and preparation of reports used for resourcing and client commercial analysis.
  • Work with HR to provide a seamless onboarding process covering training and registration
  • Key point of contact with finance function servicing African subsidiary.
  • Ad hoc financial support to Partners and other senior managers.

Working with the CFO

  • Preparation of the financial budget and subsequent reforecasts.
  • Managing relationships with banks and external auditors.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the Paprika system and the benefits it can offer.
  • Development and testing of new processes and systems to improve business efficiency and support growth.
  • Continued international expansion, especially into Africa.
  • Seek to add value to the business via revenue maximisation and effective cost management.

Key Skills & Qualification

  • CIMA/ACCA qualified accountant or Finalist
  • Paprika experience is ideal but not essential
  • Keen to work in a high growth and ever-changing Environment
  • A self-starter, someone able to manage and prioritise their tasks
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Team Player, personable, collaborative able to be assertive where necessary, a good personality and able to get on with the wider agency and a strong mentor to junior staff
  • Great Communication skills both written and spoken
  • Experience of working in an SME creative agency ( PR, Advertising, Design, Market Research)
  • Fairly Quick Start prior to end of July
