I am recruiting a Finance Director for a Private Equity backed client which is growing rapidly through acquisition. Having already successfully completed a number of acquisitions, our client is now onto their next round of bolt on targets. My client’s highly ambitious growth strategy which will play out over the next 4-6 years, which means that there is a new requirement for a Finance Director to support this strategy through to an exit.

You must be able to demonstrate that you are a strong, decisive character e.g. acting with credibility, integrity and independence, along with possessing an ability to operate effectively in a slightly chaotic, constantly evolving dynamic scale up environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the CEO, you will own the finance; manage and mentor a small finance team.
  • Financial Business Partner to the CEO and Senior Management team to monitor business performance and help drive growth.
  • Working with the Senior Management team to ensure that a robust budgeting process is in place; monitoring and reporting on performance (budget vs actual) accordingly.
  • Own and develop the company’s financial model. Providing financial due diligence over acquisition targets.
  • Produce meaningful, succinct and accurate board packs, reporting and management information.
  • Cashflow forecasting, working capital management and covenant reporting; acting as the interface between the company and the Investor to report on a wide range of financial matters.
  • Improve systems, processes and controls, utilising automation where appropriate; implement dashboards and KPI’s.

Your profile:

Skills and experience: A qualified accountant with a strong track record of operating at FD/CFO level, some of which will have been as the number one finance person in a Private Equity backed business; significant exposure to M&A, specifically acquisitions ('buy and build’); advanced financial modelling skills e.g. be able to build sophisticated financial models from scratch in Excel.

Personality: Clear, decisive communication skills; ambitious, hard-working and dedicated; personable, interactive with backbone.
