This is an opportunity within a globally renowned TV & Film production and distribution indie. This organisation has been responsible for the financing and global distribution of an impressive roster of scripted & non-scripted films and programmes, and in recent years has expanded into producing non-scripted formats.

Joining a friendly and high calibre team, this is a lovely role that will see you take responsibility for the company’s internal day-to-day finances, alongside managing the finances for their non-scripted slate. This is a sole role that reports directly to the founders and will work closely with their external accountants.

This busy and exciting position would suit a professionally qualified individual who likes to take responsibility and ownership, has a passion for TV/Film and is looking to take the next step in their career. Recently qualified candidates with relevant industry experience, alongside individuals looking to make a move into industry from practice (with media/TV exposure) will also be considered.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude, be adaptable, approachable and a genuine passion to work for a thriving and busy TV/Film SME based in Central London.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage the day to day finances of the company, including budgeting and ensuring the maintenance of accurate financial records
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts and present to the board
  • Manage company cashflow, cost management and risk
  • Assist with preparing long term financial plans and forecasting to support strategic business decisions
  • Oversee the non-scripted slate finances to include budget management, cashflow and cost reports
  • VAT preparation and submission
  • Develop, implement and maintain financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards
  • Manage the company bookkeeping, including management of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Collaborate with external accountants for corporation tax, payroll and statutory reporting

Candidate specifications:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or similar), with at least 4 years accounting experience
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience gained within Entertainment/Media/Production either in industry or whilst in practice is highly beneficial
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Highly organised, great time management and able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Exposure to Xero would be beneficial
  • Great team player, 'can-do’ attitude and self motivated
  • A genuine interest of TV/Film
