A services business isseeking an Interim Head of Corporation Tax to join the team in London for a 6-Month fixed term contract.  You RoleWhile in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Working on key projects such as corporate and property deals, providing technical support for corporation tax
  • Calculating tax provisions for both group and individual company accounts, alongside communicating with external auditors and the Tax Manager
  • Maintaining tax reporting software, ensuring that the relevant information is collected and presented
  • Updating corporation tax compliance and reporting systems
  • Implementing efficiencies with the aim of increasing automation and moving towards MTDCT
  • Preparing tax computations and returns for the UK entities
  • Providing input into forecasts and strategic plans relating to corporation tax, which may include deferred tax calculations, ensuring presentations for senior stakeholders are created
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding meetings and any correspondence, handling queries, disputes and negotiations
  • Taking accountability for risk management and governance in relation to corporation tax
  • Providing training and guidance for junior and non-tax staff members
  • Ensuring tax legislation is kept updated, particularly in relation to corporation tax
  • Handling key tax relief claims, including R&D allowances, ECAs rollover relief and capital allowances on property spend
You MUST Have:Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA or CTA)
  • Extensive experience of at least 10 years handling large group tax compliance
  • Experience handling deferred tax accounting and modelling
  • Exposure to working with large Excel tax models
  • Sound competency utilising tax software, preferably Alphatax, with additional knowledge of other relevant systems such as SAP
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience liaising with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
