Having recently completed a significant funding round, raising c.€10M+ from top-tier investors, the company has been scaling rapidly. In 2024, they more than doubled their team size and completed a strategic acquisition of a well-established asset management business with a substantial portfolio under management. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic business that's leading innovation in the PropTech space.

The Opportunity

As the first finance hire, you will report directly to the Founder/CEO and take full ownership of the finance function. This role is perfect for an ambitious finance professional eager to shape the financial strategy of a high-growth startup while accelerating their own career trajectory.

You'll have the chance to build out the finance department from the ground up, working closely with commercial and tech teams to drive process improvements, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with external accountants to ensure compliance with UK GAAP and the timely preparation of financial statements.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and present financial performance, projections, and key metrics to the leadership team and board.
  • Partner cross-functionally with commercial and tech teams to drive efficiencies and support scalability.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for growth.
  • Lead contract negotiations with finance partners and external stakeholders.
  • Drive process automation and improvements to enhance scalability and financial reporting.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential:
    • ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified or equivalent..
    • Exceptional Excel or Google Sheets skills with strong analytical capabilities.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
    • A proven track record in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decisions.
    • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset and a history of driving continuous improvement.
  • Bonus:
    • Fluency in French or familiarity with French GAAP.
    • Experience with cross-country accounting in the EU.
    • Background in SaaS, investment banking, or management consulting.
    • Previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
    • Proficiency with accounting software and BI tools.
