Reed Accountancy are recruiting a Head of Finance (UK), seeking an experienced Finance Manager to partner closely with the Group Finance Director and Divisional Managing Directors of a group that is growing rapidly through acquisition. This pivotal role ensures compliance with statutory and internal financial and legal commitments while providing crucial financial support and insights.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead accounting operations: Oversee daily purchase ledger transactions, preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for two group companies.
  • Financial reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow, and P&L.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK & US financial standards.
  • Budget management: Oversee budget preparation, monthly reporting, and financial planning.
  • Cash flow forecasting: Manage operational funds and forecast cash flow positions.
  • Performance monitoring: Track KPIs to ensure divisional targets are met.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Managing Directors to inform on performance and controls.
  • Tax management: Handle VAT, PAYE, corporation tax, and liaise with auditors.
  • Contract oversight: Monitor external contracts and services for effectiveness and value.
  • Commission calculations: Oversee sales commission and bonus calculations.

Required skills:

  • Financial expertise: Strong understanding of financial processes, systems, and controls.
  • Reporting proficiency: Expertise in financial reporting and compliance, with advanced MS Excel skills
  • Budgeting skills: Experience with budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Analytical ability: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and business partnering experience.
