Ivy Rock Partners is supporting a prestigious London University with the recruitment of a Junior Finance Business Partner to join the team on a 7-month fixed term contract.

As a Junior Finance Business Partner, you’ll deliver financial and management information to budget holders and stakeholders, providing a customer-focused service to support effective financial decision-making. You’ll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with budget managers to develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Support financial planning, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with financial transactions, including invoicing, purchase orders, and staff cost allocations.
  • Collaborate with senior finance staff to communicate policies and ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end processes, including adjustments and reporting.

About You

  • Qualified / part-qualified accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Experience of financial planning, budget setting, forecasting, management accounts, variance analysis and producing & explaining financial information and management accounts to tight deadlines.
  • Experience working within the not-for-profit sector (higher education experience desirable)
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel with experience managing large data sets
  • Experience with Agresso is desired
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
