We are excited to partner with a distinguished international bank in their search for a Senior Operation Officer /Â Operations Manager. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Operations Department, ensuring the provision of efficient and cost-effective support systems, particularly in the management and supervision of money transfer activities.
Day-to-day of the role:- Supervise the daily operations of the Operations Department, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage all aspects of payment and money transfer activities, ensuring adherence to customer and branch instructions.
- Conduct timely and accurate checks of outward payments and ensure compliance with various procedural and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Head of IT & Operations to develop and maintain disaster recovery systems and procedures.
- Maintain the department's procedural manual and ensure all documentation is accurately scanned into the relevant system.
- Handle specific tasks such as monitoring currency positions, releasing SWIFT payment messages, and supervising deal settlement maintenance.
- Proven experience in operational management within a banking or financial services environment.
- In-depth understanding of payment systems, SWIFT transactions, and back office functions.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, capable of supervising and motivating a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to developing efficient processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues related to banking operations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain control over activities within the Operations Department.
- Lead, support, and guide staff within the department.
- Identify and address training needs, ensuring timely completion.
- Support the Head of IT & Operations in staff development, motivation, and appraisal.
