We’re seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our forward-thinking accountancy practice in London.This opportunity is offered on a hybrid basis with 3 days in the office and 2 from home. We are looking for a candidate who have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, adhering to tight deadlines whilst driving the team forward by providing strong communication and leadership skills. Key responsibilities: 
    • Training and guiding junior staff, including direct reports and broader team support.
    • Acting as a role model through professionalism, conduct, and technical expertise
    • Liaising with clients to manage VAT returns, ensuring work is delegated, reviewed, and submitted on time—keeping clients informed well in advance of deadlines.
    • Handling ad-hoc client queries with clarity and efficiency.
    • Drafting accounts and ensuring high standards of accuracy.
    • Managing workflows using CCH workflow software and proactively updating tasks, especially during managerial absences.
    • Assisting with billing targets and supporting workflow management across teams.
    • Providing training on accounting software to enhance team capabilities.
    • Managing bookkeepers’ schedules and time allocation.
    • Proactively supporting managers with tasks and sharing your expertise where needed.
Key Skills: 
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • ACA/ACCA finalist/newly qualified 
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage deadlines and workflows proactively.
  • Any prior managerial or supervisory experience is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with CCH workflow tools is advantageous).
