THE COMPANY

The company is Fin-Tech aiming to create better solutions for customers money needs. They offer a range of products including, car finance, home improvement loans, credit cards, and savings to name a few.

THE ROLE

The role is a great opportunity for an experienced credit risk analyst looking to take a step up and have a commercial impact. You will be responsible for developing and implementing NPV valuation models using the most innovative technology to set credit policy and customer management strategy.

You can expect to be involved in the following day-to-day:

  • Lead the development and optimisation of NPV models for four lending products.
  • Ensure model architecture, including cash flow and balance calculations, accurately reflects product performance and aligns with accounting practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the data science team to create industry-leading account-level models, incorporating advanced techniques such as machine learning to refine key model assumptions.
  • Apply expert judgment in situations where data is sparse or when models produce counterintuitive results, leveraging years of experience to guide decisions.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders across credit strategy teams to ensure alignment on model development roadmaps and regularly update them on progress.
  • Work closely with Product, Risk, Impairment, and Finance teams to refine valuation methods and improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Establish and implement strong processes and governance for updating model assumptions and releasing new models.
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of four, providing clear development plans and fostering professional growth.
  • Advocate for the use of cutting-edge technology in model development and implementation.
  • Leverage your modelling expertise to support strategic initiatives, such as new product launches, portfolio acquisitions, and loan sales.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Expertise in financial modelling, specifically valuation and NPV models.
  • Excellent experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience working for banking, or fin-tech financial services, across lending products.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
