Equifind are supporting a rapidly growing International Asset Manager in central London, based by Bank, looking to hire a Tax Manager, focused on all tax matters for their European real estate funds.

The Company:

With a truly global footprint and hugely recognisable brand this Asset Manager has offices in multiple locations. This team looks after the Real Estate Funds portion of this AUM, over $6Bn, with runway to grow to the $10Bn mark over the next 3 years across Europe.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast paced, hugely growing firm - by headcount and AUM. The main real estate funds the work focuses on are located within Germany and LUX. Responsible for providing all tax and VAT compliance and regulatory reporting and controlling for assigned funds and SPVs. They are seeking a business partner who can give financial analysis and other support to the fund and asset management investment teams.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Tax Structuring, support for launching new products and new funds
  • Review of existing investment structures and restructuring projects
  • Acquisition and disposal tax advice, financing and refinancing
  • Input on manuals, policy and procedures. Interpreting new tax rules and regulations
  • Reviewing outsource providers tax returns, withholding tax, corporate tax returns, German Investment Tax Act (GITA)
  • Manage tax inspections, capital goods scheme, CGT and latent taxes
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for VAT, tax advice and analysis
  • Financial analysis on the understanding the impact of tax rules and equity/debt split and the funding flows
  • The role leverages outsource providers, more of an oversight role with the responsibility for decisions and advise
  • Ad hoc projects, process improvement and automation

Requirements:

  • Ideally qualified, a minimum of 5-10 years of experience
  • Experience of European tax, ideally within Real Estate Funds
  • Positive and proactive nature
  • Ability to deal with senior stakeholders
