Our client, a well known UK based investment manager, are seeking an experienced Funding Manager to join their London based treasury function.

In this role you will be responsible for managing relationships with debt investors to ensure strong engagement and support for future bond issuance. Additionally, you will oversee relationships with financial institutions, ensuring optimal terms and arrangements, while maintaining effective engagement with credit rating agencies to secure accurate and favourable ratings. You will also manage the debt programme, including overseeing the issuance of any new debt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor the Treasury Funding Framework, delivering regular reports, analyses, and forecasts on key balance sheet metrics from regulatory, investor, and rating agency perspectives, including debt capacity, leverage and interest cover

  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of rating agency capital models to assess the impact on funding plans.

  • Support senior leadership in managing relationships with rating agencies, ensuring accurate and constructive communication.

  • Collaborate with the team and leadership to manage relationships with banks, partnering closely with relevant internal stakeholders, and engaging with current and prospective providers of capital and liquidity to maintain market insight.

  • Engage with bond investors, responding promptly and accurately to inquiries and ensuring a structured programme of regular investor interactions.

  • Monitor market conditions, significant developments, and pricing for the organisations debt, providing updates and analyses to senior management.

  • Contribute to managing funding risks within Treasury, maintaining the control framework, and implementing all elements of the Risk Management System (RMS).

To be a good fit for this role, you will have:

  • Experience in Treasury management, including funding strategy and related data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of funding and debt capital markets, preferably within the financial services or regulated sectors.
  • Familiarity with rating agency capital models and regulatory capital frameworks.
  • Treasury qualification (ACT), CFA, or equivalent professional certifications are desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills, with a strong team-oriented mindset.
