We are currently recruiting on their behalf for an Assistant Ceded Reinsurance Manager, based at their office in the heart of London. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing ceded post-bind aspects of the company, for a defined ceded external portfolio and internal cessions written across the various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance, and direction to colleagues within the team for complex processing issues and day to day technical processing.
  • Manage and review the set up of ceded reinsurance contract terms and ceded collateral trust agreements in the underwriting and accounting systems.
  • Review the processing of ceded transactions at contract set up above thresholds and on complex accounts.
  • Provide underwriting support at the Lloyd’s box.
  • Review large movements on catastrophe events, understanding the implications of assumed losses on ceded portfolio.
  • Review all ceded aspects of the monthly / quarterly close.
  • Ensure timely monthly / quarterly close of the reinsurance accounting systems.
  • Review month-end / quarter-end processing and reconciliation of ceded accruals and recoveries in the company's accounting systems.
  • Review the monitoring of collateral requirements, amendments / withdrawals / releases when applicable.
  • Review suggestions for potential write-offs and data analysis for commutations.
  • Review requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Develop, implement, and document processes, controls, systems and solutions, for efficient handling of ceded portfolio.

Key Requirements

  • At least 2-5 years previous experience in a Ceded or Senior Operational role within Credit Control or Cash Management within the Lloyd's / London Market.
  • Must have a relevant professional qualification (i.e. ACII / CPCU / AIC / ARe).
  • Experience with public companies and SOX 404, and advanced working knowledge of SICS and REMS, is preferred but not essential.
